The Christian Religion: Faith & Quotations

The Christian Bible is one of the most read and printed books in Earth's history. It is made up of 66 independent writings: 39 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament books. It includes 1189 chapters with 929 in the Old Testament and 260 in the New Testament consisting of 773,692 words (King James Version).

The Bible was written over a span of 1500 years. The first writing was written around 1450 BC and the last around 100 AD. The authors of each book has been amongst the center of controversy for hundreds of years, most notably the Books of Moses (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy).

Throughout the controversies which surround the scriptures, the Bible has withstood over 600 years in the English language alone (the first English translation of the bible is credited to John Wycliffe in 1384).
