The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 is an action crime thriller film about four men who hijack a train and demand $10 million in 60 minutes or else one passenger dies for every minute afterwards. The movie follows a former assistant chief transportation officer who is currently working at the Rail Control Center as a train dispatcher as he tries to deal with the situation of hostages taken aboard a hijacked train. The film gets its name from the location the train is taken from, Pelham Bay Park Station and the time it departed at, 1:23 PM. Directed by Tony Scott. Starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta. Based on the novel of the same name by John Godey. This is the second adaption of the novel.

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 received mixed reviews upon its release, but was still a success at the box office.
