Quotations from Lakeview Terrace

Lakeview Terrace is a crime-drama thriller about a racist LAPD sergeant that terroizes his new interracially-married neighbors. The film starts out by showing Abel Turner (the police sergeant) getting his kids off to school. He sees a new couple moving in and ends up not-so-welcoming to them. Directed by Neil LaBute. Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick Wilson, and Kerry Washington.

Lakeview Terrace is a movie that displays what most people know but don't talk about: black people being racist towards whites who marry blacks. Of course, that's not to say all black people think that way, just as not all whites are racist towards blacks, but it has been known to happen. Anyway, below you'll find some fantastic quotes from the film Lakeview Terrace. Check them out.

Chris Mattson: I've always wanted to say this. We're home owners!
Abel Turner: [Puts gun on Chris's head] Give up the wallet, man. Give it up!
Abel Turner: Welcome to the neighborhood.
Chris Mattson: What?
Abel Turner: Never roll your window down when somebody does [moves his hand in circular motion] that.
Chris Mattson: You scared the hell out of me.
Abel Turner: Imagine that.
Chris Mattson: He's got security lights.
Lisa Mattson: Maybe we should put sheets on the window.
Chris Mattson: Sheets? We need bricks.
Chris Mattson: Your security lights are shining right into our window upstairs.
Abel Turner: I see how that could be annoying.
Abel Turner: I've got nothing against you. But you shouldn't be putting your bedroom scenes out here in front of my kids to see. Maybe some places where that's OK, and maybe that's where you ought to live.
Chris Mattson: Whatever it is about us that bothers you gotta figure out a way to deal with this.
Abel Turner: Or what?
[pause]
Abel Turner: [smiles]
Chris Mattson: We're not moving.
Abel Turner: Says who?
Police officer: You guys are lucky, you have a cop living next door.
