The Princess and the Frog is an animated family fantasy musical film about a young woman named Tiana who must kiss a frong prince in order to make him human again. The film is set in 1926 New Orleans as Tiana is working two jobs so she can eventually own her own restaurant. She is hired by her childhood friend to provide refreshments at a Mardi Gras masquerade ball for the King of the Mardi Gras as they welcome Prince Naveen of Maldonia. However, the Prince is unskilled and poor. He wishes to simply marry a wealthy woman instead of learning something for himself, so he seeks out Dr. Facilier who is a voodoo witch doctor. However, instead of helping the prince, the witch doctor turns him into a frog. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. Starring the voices of Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, and Oprah Winfrey.
The Princess and the Frog was well received upon first entering theaters. It went on to be a financial success. The movie features the first "black princess" from Disney.
