The Fighter is a biographical sports drama that follows the life of "Irish" Micky Ward who went pro in the mid-1980s. The story begins by looking at Micky's early years as a boxers. His mother is his manager and his brother is his trainer. However, he's looked at only as a stepping stone by other boxers. After being imprisoned and released, he gets a deal with another team that says his brother and mother can no longer help train him. He then finds success while causing problems with his family.
