The Fighter is a biographical sports drama that follows the life of "Irish" Micky Ward who went pro in the mid-1980s. The story begins by looking at Micky's early years as a boxers. His mother is his manager and his brother is his trainer. However, he's looked at only as a stepping stone by other boxers. After being imprisoned and released, he gets a deal with another team that says his brother and mother can no longer help train him. He then finds success while causing problems with his family. Directed by David O. Russell. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, and Melissa Leo.

The Fighter saw great reviews by critics after the film's release.
