Atheism: The Faith & Quotations

Atheism isn't a religion and nor is it organized. It is a disbelief in gods. A Christian disbeleives in all gods but one. An Atheist is simply someone who beleives in one less god.

An Atheist believes exactly what the definition states. Atheism is not an organized religion; the beliefs of Atheists can differ greatly from one another. The only "belief" Atheists share is their lack of belief in gods. They do not believe a God or gods created Earth or the Universe.

There isn't a set of views that Atheists share (other than the obvious). Many Atheists believe religion has benefits to society; however, there are Atheists who believe the world would be better off without religion. The views vary from Atheist to Atheist.

Yes and no. There have been many proposed symbols, but since Atheists are not organized a symbol can not be chosen. Nonetheless, this does not stop many Atheists and media outlets from attempting to establish a symbol. Generally, the most common Atheist symbols include an "A" in a circle, a fish with legs (the darwin fish), mathematical signs, or the atomic symbol.
