The X-Files: I Want to Believe is a science-fiction thriller mystery drama film about two detectives for the FBI as they are called back to work on a case of a kidnapped agent. The story begins several years after the agents' retirement with Mulder in isolation from the bureau and Scully working as a doctor at a Catholic hospital. However, once a priest has a vision of a kidnapped agent, the two are called back to work the case. This film is a stand-alone and does not rely on the series or previous movie.
