City of God is a crime drama film about two people who grew up in the same violent neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro but took completely different paths. One man is a photographer and the other is a drug dealer. The city follows the struggle of the two who deal with the decades of gangs controlling the city. The film is directed by Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund. Starring Alexandre Rodrigues, Matheus Nachtergaele, and Leandro Firmino. Based on the novel by Paulo Lins. This film was nominated for four Oscar awards.
