Life and history of President George W. Bush

George W. Bush was born on July 6, 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut. Bush grew up in Midland, Texas and Houston, Texas before receiving a bachelor's degree in history from Yale University in 1968.

After graduation, Bush served as an F-102 fighter pilot in the Texas Air National Guard. Bush then went on to receive a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1975. Following his graduation, he moved back to Midland and started his career in energy.

In 1988, Bush successfully helped his father gain the Presidential office. Soon after, he assembled a group of partners to purchase the Texas Rangers in 1989. Just five years later, on November 8, 1994, Bush was elected Governor of Texas. He became the first Governor in Texas history to hold office in consecutive 4-year terms after being re-elected on November 2, 1998.

Bush then saw his chance at running for President of the United States. In 2001, after one of the closest elections in the history of the United States and losing the popular vote, George W. Bush became President of the USA.

After September 11, 2001, President Bush held a 90% approval rating, the highest ever in American history. However, after the start of the Iraq War, his approval rating soon dropped.

Although his approval rating dropped, President Bush was re-elected in 2004 to hold office for another four years.
