I have been accused of plagiarism for "The End You Preferred".

This is the message I received from someone that has no poems and I believe just started this username to make this claim.

This poem is beautiful, so very well thought out and written. But, umm, hm, I was just wondering, do u plagiarize all ur poetry? This is my boyfriend's poem. He wrote it and I know this for a fact. It was on his facebook, as you would know. Which is probably why you took it off the first time? Cuz is wasn't yours... I'm not looking for you to take it off or even a public admission that you stole it, but you could at least admit it to me cuz I know the truth.

Dear Rokkii,
Your boyfriend is a liar. I just re-posted this poem. It was written in the spring of this year. I have the original saved on my hard drive with the date. It was deleted because I have a problem with the delete button. You need to tell him to man up and either take my poem down or put my name on it.
I will leave this up to all who know me and remember the poem to speak the truth. Only a child would steal work and say it was theirs. I am no child...and your boyfriend is just that...a boy!
And how do you know it for a fact, when I know I wrote it.
You are dating a liar so, good luck with that.

I am not very tech or internet savvy, so if anyone has any idea how I could track this facebook account down and call this thief out, it would be greatly appreciated.

His name is Leroy Anderson, it is posted on Myspace.

I would like for everyone to send him a message that we are aware of his theft...I already have. He does not allow messages from people he does not know on the poem(I wonder why) but you can send him a message on the page the poem is on. To the left of the poem and under his picture you will see "send message" but you must have a myspace account to do it.
You can find it easily by copy and pasting the first line of my poem with his name and myspcae and googling it.

Having been talking to grunty in the run up to him writing and posting the poem the first time, i feel i can safely vouch for his ownership.

Also, anyone who's been reading his work since he began would know it was his just from the style content and tone.

No idea how you'd find it mate, but if she is honest in her belief that it's her boyfriend's poem she'll put you in touch.

i will vouch that it was gruntys poem because i read it both times it was posted. and like monkeyboy said noone else writes like grunty does. and grunty the only way i can think of is get the "boyfriend"s name and search it. or search the poem on facebook. not sure if you can do that or not but its all i can think of. three cheers for gunty

It is extremely rude to accuse a writer of plagiarizing; I'd like to see you write some poetry and then have someone steal it (which is EXACTLY what your boyfriend did)and then send this message to someone. Maybe your boyfriend should get a life and you some manners. Grow up.

as i remember, it's the poem that gave me the topic for my project in my writing course... yeah, i remember that very well.. i have known Grunty, the poet, and i can't mistake him for another... his style and deep poems are always special and thus i knew them all along.. it's not grunty who needs to plagiarize others' works. he is talented and BIG enough to write like this piece. a big footbrint for a big giant man... great poems are not a fluke. if she claims it's her boyfriends', then she should show you/us his other great pieces. and let us compare and judge... i will send him the message soon, innocent grunty ^^!

Ok, idk why this had to be posted and shared with the world. Like he needed to get some support cuz he cant stand up for himself all alone.
This is between me and grunty. You all are standing up for someone you dont even know. People on the internet can be totally different from what they say, but I know my boyfriend and I was talking to him WHILE he wrote this, back before he was my boyfriend. Look if he were so proud of his poem he would come forth with the proof.

I am not going to go back and forth with you over this. It is plagiarism and he will suffer the consequences if he does not remove it or put my name on it.

Btw...the reason this was posted and shared with everyone is because I have no fear of discovery because it is my poem that I wrote. You on the other hand knew deep down that you BOY friend was a thief. I would rather not speak if all I can muster are lies.

That doesn't really mean shit. I "knew" my boyfriend too. I'd known him for years before we dated, and we were really good friends and he was one of the only people I ever really trusted. He wrote me a love poem. Told me he spent hours on it and it was just for me. I knew it was bullshit because the poem he gave me was one I'd read many times, even before I ever met him.
My point is this: just because he's your boyfriend doesn't mean he isn't capable of stealing a poem.

On behalf of the person who's poem you stole and posted on myspace, I think it would be in your own best interests to either put the original author's name on his work or take it down.
IF you refuse to do either immediate legal action WILL be taken.
This is a serious matter and breach of copyright infringement laws and you could face a serious fine.
I am telling you this for your own good. Give him credit or take it down.
Don't think that you can get away with it because he took it down and re-posted it after you had stolen it. He has it copyrighted and dated and in a court of law that stands over any internet dated work because the internet can be so easily altered. (I should know, I'm studying law)
So for your own benefit I think it wise that you do as is asked of you.

You're lucky he's not taking immediate legal action. He is not impressed at your girlfriend accusing him of plagiarizing his own poem. Tell her the truth and perhaps an apology to the author of the poem would be worth your while too.

Yes, yes, I know Darkside. But I don't think I have ever learned anything the easy way.

Btw...I feel I must insist we stop all mention of the poem being so good that people want to steal it. The fact is quite the opposite. If the poem were truly that good, these losers would have had no chance pawning it off as their own work. The real poets on this site will likely never have this happen to them. Their work is as such that a non poet loser thief could never convince the people that know him that it was his creation.
All that said, it leads my to one conclusion......
