You Were Gone

My world suddenly stopped when I heard the news
It wasn't for long when I stared to cry
I pictured those memories we once had
And looked back at the past
It was too late to say goodbye

We had a special bond
Different from the rest
I wish it lasted longer
But it was already over

I sat on the floor and a piece of my heart was gone
I cried the tears that have never come out before
I felt guilty and empty

I asked why but I knew the answer
It wasn't time yet, I thought
