Vernacular Window Panes

It's fallen soldier time.

Excuse me, but what's that on your watch?
Seven or eight?; the intervals are important.

Let me move the felt from off your wristband.

Now say again, seven or eight?
Or is it airplane time again?
Seven fourty seven you say.

That can't be right, it was just eight sixty-three, more or less, give or take.

The hands are most likely dead.
Let me brush the debris from the battery.

Now repeat for me please, the time is important.

Twelve twenty-nine.

Seems reasonable enough, but are you sure?
You can never be sure that you have the right time.
And I need it, so hurry up and flick the face.

Oh, but I'm already late.
The time has passed!, the time that I needed.
But, once more, please share, what's the time my kind sir?

Then he died.

An interesting, but esoteric and hard metaphor. I understand you like metaphors, but it's difficult for me to make a connection.
It's written well, though, and I like the tone again. I'm really starting to look forward to your poetry.
