Darkness in the night
Darkness in RS’s mind
Darkness in your mama’s eyes
Darkness everywhere

It takes hold
Overwhelming
And dictating

Darkness in your girlfriend’s heart
Told you she gets beat by her father
Darkness in your best-friend’s mind
Told you he can’t go any farther

It takes hold
Overwhelming
And dictating

You try to help both
But it pains you inside
Eventually, you all fall
Overwhelmed and dictated

You decide
To help your best-friend
He kicks the habit
Finally, some madness ends
Next on the list
Is your girlfriend
She’s gotten her last beating
And you find her life has come to an end

It takes hold
Overwhelming
And dictating

You can’t help everyone
And it pains you inside
Eventually, you all fall
Overwhelmed and dictated
