Secret Confessions
I gaze into the mirror,
Not recognizing the face I see.
Wiped away of all the innocence,
That girl surely isn’t me.
Tears stream from my eyes,
Leaving a trail of sorrow.
I’m a shadow of myself,
I can’t help but feel hollow.
My anguish is never-ending,
I cannot seem to breathe.
As the pain overtakes me,
I’m brought to my knees.
My days are too long,
My nights are spent crying.
Living on day after day,
I’m so sick of trying.
I’m broken on the inside,
Slowly bleeding my way out.
It’s tearing away at me,
How much longer must I shout?
