Remember
Forget that she doesn't remember,
Forget that it's not fair.
Remember the secret spot,
And what we did there.
Skipping rocks on the lake,
Crying and laughing,
And playing with snakes.
Tell her all the fun we had,
And all the tears we cried.
Tell her what makes us sad,
And all the times we lied.
Help her remember,
So she isn't alone.
Tell her about September,
And how sad her mom was on the phone.
Tell her about the crash,
And how you cried.
Remember when you saw the ash,
And wish her memories hadn't died.
