God Has Abandoned Me

God, I thought would help me if I prayed enough
Only to be left feeling emptier than before
Dont think faith holds the key any longer

How can God put me through this again
A mere man asking for some guidance
Saddened further to be left unanswered

All thoughts say suicide is the answer
But I still try to hold onto a thread of hope
A possiblity that thread will soon break
Nothing I do makes me happy anymore
Did my best to try and not let that happen
Only to be disappointed with the results
Need some kind of sign things will get better
Everyone only sees my clever disguise
Dont see that my smiles are empty

Must keep going for as long as I can
Even though God has abandoned me
