A sight of beauty,
What joys it can bring.
Calmness is what you see.
Hidden behind vines, a garden of spring.
Filling you up with colors and light.
Through the vine entrance, you’re eager to look.
A wonderful, yet, paralyzing sight.
Playful and serene, it’s your heart it took.
Pulling you in, it reached for your arm.
As you dropped your restraint it held you.
No reason to fear, it will never harm.
It felt so familiar, like something you knew.
As you returned each day, the garden felt something wrong.
Like something was missing, but it didn’t know why.
It ignored this feeling, and decided to stay strong.
As the day ended, it was another goodbye.
Then one day you left a gift, a planted flower.
The garden tingled as this made it grow.
As you left, it began to shower.
Once again, it was time to go.
With time the flower grew stronger.
Night by night, and day-by-day,
It grew tall, and its roots grew longer.
The bud of its beauty watched you, in hopes you’d stay.
The flower grew tired of looking through a wall.
It finally showed what you’d been waiting for.
It decided to bloom, but it was frail and small.
When it saw you, you looked like you expected more.
The flower grew weary when you didn’t come back.
It knew it was weak, so it just did the math.
But still it waited, thinking you just lost track.
Its roots became brittle and lost their path.
Holding strong for so long, but finally it died.
As weeks went by, the colors of the garden faded.
The only way the flower still lives, is by crying inside.
It tries so hard, even though the light is shaded.
