Bittersweet Memories

Come and walk with me for a spell
And I'll sing you a mystical song
Woven with broken hearted wishes
Conjured from a place deeply unknown

You watch silently as I convey emotion
Joyful sadness runs rampant amongst us
Sweet bliss of times not forgotten
Echoing memories in the halls of the mind

Do I make you believe?
As I bend and mold the shape
Of everything you hold dear
And keeps you safe from understanding

Have I succeeded in fooling you?
To believe these are tears from joy
Running down and giving light to my face
For I seem so happy with life

Are you still blinded by my song?
Deafened to cries of pain
As you chase everything beautiful
And leave me behind with Misery

Yet I yearn for the unconditional
The easy road ahead, unburdened
The road without ruts
And stones to stumble upon

So take my hand with peace
Together we will pave a way
To a new kind of song
Of bittersweet memories
