to be deaf

Not hearing the rush hour traffic,
Not hearing radio static,
Being locked in a silent world,
thats what its like to be deaf.

Not hearing your mothers voice,
its not like you have a choice,
to simply turn your hearing on,
thats what its like to be deaf.

Not hearing the worlds noices,
Not hearing poeple voices,
Not even your own,
thats what its like to be deaf.

Not knowing the difference between talking or yelling,
Not hearing the dorr behind you locking,
can be scary,
thats what its like to be deaf.

Being locked away in lonely days,
Poeple talk but dont seem to go away,
they dont know why your such a 'freak',
thats what its like to be deaf.

You have lost just one sence,
yet it feels as if your below the top of the fence,
But you still always try your best,
thats what its like to be deaf.
