Poem From The Heart

Poetry is the heart
pulled out through your fingers
onto the waiting paper below.
The pen is red
just like the blood coursing through your heart.
It keeps your heart alive and well.
The words pulled from your fingers
create a picture or a story
that can captivate the mind and soul.
It can touch hearts
and relieve yourself from the burden of the feelings.
It releases a part of it
to express yourself
with your heart poured onto paper.
The beauty of the poem though
is through the eyes of the beholder
and the most important beholder is you.
So don't let people tell you it isn't a poem
or a good poem
because it doesn't matter what they think.
If its a poem to you.
It is a poem.
It a poem from your heart.
