Comic Book
The panes of villains are well-contained
In their parti-colored mischief
Of the reds and yellows and blue hues
Divined by white geometric lightning rods
Flanking each scene --
Something cosmic on the comic
From the arcane arcade gods.
Onslaughts of dots
Paint heroes with their mores
Fighting gross arthropods --
Art deco in shape and mod --
And sordid to their cores.
The characters whose names
Are recognized by ridicule
Look neatly shaped by chisel
In each vibrant sill.
Tattoos of unprovoked
And fierce garters
Are like their foolhardy martyrs
Brandishing biceps.
And parti-colored, parti-colored
Is that token dullard.
And in each dialogue bubble
Is a sad bit of rubble
Where no one went to the same
Aesthetic trouble.
