Man of a Thousand Faces
I sit here
Alesana blasting
my off-key notes
echo through
this empty house
and as I look for something
to entertain my wandering mind
I look to you.
Ha.
Your picture still sits in my wallet
Huh...
your eyes
stare back at me
my lonely heart
beats only for you
but lo and behold
the words I have been looking for
an escape from my prison bars
Ha.
The key is just outside my grasp
it seems to be locked in
a chamber of sorts
a heart shaped container
Welcome to the show
It's a story that you've heard a thousand times
don't fret, it won't last long
There is no guarantee that we'll be getting out alive
so no worries
take a seat
get lost
with me
hand in hand
Ha.
You know the words to just sweep me off my feet
into a world unknown
soft kiss
Oh God!
I'm gong to melt!
sultry words bounce off the walls
another arm reaches for me
pulls me close
oh where are we?!
what has happened?!
Hmm.
OH!
violent push onto a bed
what is this?! what is happening?!
Where is the stage!?
My love? where have you gone?
Tears pour down my face
or are they?
tears? sweat? it all feels so real
Oh god!
Thank god! this bed is real.
It was all a dream.
it must have been...
