I Live on Borrowed Time
I live on borrowed time,
Today was not mine, nor was yesterday.
I gave the Army four years of my life,
To do with as they please.
I choose not where I live,
Nor how long I'll stay.
I live on borrowed time,
Few will ever understand.
Eleven months I spent from home sleeping in a tent.
Each day, fighting for others sake.
The Sun, the dust, the rockets and mortars each and every day,
All we did was hope and pray to keep going another day.
I live on borrowed time.
Today was not mine, and neither will be tomorrow.
I did not want to go, I did as I was told.
Now they say it was a mistake.
Four months I have been back, four less I get to stay.
Eleven more months I will have, till we say goodbye again.
I live on borrowed,
I wish it could be mine.
