Her Family
She remember when he admitted it,
she was in grade 3.
He was walking the girl to school,
commenting on their parents.
He hated them a lot.
It was something she couldn't understand,
why had they always fought?
But she was too little to understand what was going on.
"We have a dis-functional family,"
he said to his little sister one day.
The girl stood there in shock,
&he looked down at the ground.
she kept my mouth shut,
completely dazed.
Up until this day,
she remembers it clearly.
She'll never forget those words,
or the face he had.
She'll never forget that day,
since it was all she could think about.
Because she didn't want to admit,
that it was sadly true.
