Gay Pride

I walk through the halls
Of my jerk infested school
They have no idea what I’ve been through
And yet they continue to call me this
That
Gay, bisexual, does it really matter
Does it really matter to you what I am
You have no idea
No fucking idea
Push me in the halls
Throw stuff at me
Look down on me because I’m not normal
But please tell me
What is normal?
Straight?
Not gay?
But then I wouldn’t be myself
You say it’s wrong to be gay
Bi
But what’s right?
Do you even know what’s right
And what’s wrong?
Don’t tell me who to be
What to be
I know who I am
And you can’t tell me otherwise
I wave my brightly colored flag
With dignity
Proud of what I am
Knowing who I am
If you can’t except that
Then you need to take a step back
And take a good look around
Notice that everyone isn’t the same
Some choose to be different
Choose to be themselves
And I’m one of them to do so

That is so true. I'm not gay or bi or anything, but I am a huge advocator of gay/straight equality. I love hte message your poem is trying to get accross. Truely amazing.
