A Light of Hope From Clouds of Night

It was a day that should not have been,
A day the skies of black would win,
And from that first cold, sharp raindrop,
I cried and asked the rain to stop,
It didn't hear my sobbing pleas,
Nor me fall hard onto my knees,
Hours passed, labeled "Day",
And yet I knew it was okay,
So long, at last, to no surprise,
It was a clearing in the skies,
I looked up and what I saw,
Was someone as rain ceased to fall,
"Who might you be? My name is Cheer.
I'm here to wash away your fear,
Anger and sadness...Then one we will be.
Yes, you and I. For I did see
Your head was high; it looked up to me."
