Waiting
I sat there waiting
always waiting
I look at the phone
but still nothing there
I let out a long sigh
Then the phone rings
My heart beats faster
But it's not you, it's never you
I ignore it as it rings in my ear
Maybe just maybe
you will forgive me
and forget what I said
The phone rings again
this time it's you
My heart stops
then starts.
Maybe you forgave me
Maybe you love me
Maybe just maybe
I hope and pray
You say your sorry
A tear rolls down my face
you said you forgave me
You said you'd protect me
That's all I needed to hear
