Sleep

I lay alone in the warmth of my bed
Watching the snow drift gently past my window
But trying to turn my restless mind off
Seems impossible for me to do
I glance at my cell phone
Turning thoughts in my mind
As gentle melody's play
In the still air
It all reminds me of you
Your touch, your smile, your kiss...
But you're not real
None of it is real
You've escaped my reality
And exist only in my dreams
How I ache to hear your voice
For you to hold me again
But all that remains is a distant memory
And your voice that sings me to sleep
Maybe tomorrow I'll wake up
And find it's all just been a dream

This is not for anyone, just for the past and the future. Smiley
