Opposition
I make a mistake,
every night I lay awake.
Everyday I stay,
my mind is astray,
wondering why I'm not with him today.
Everyday I don't leave,
silently I grieve,
for the love I could have had,
if I weren't so naive.
I love you too,
and for that I thank you,
but it's just not the same,
and for that I am ashamed.
I gave up on him,
was finally free,
only to discover he'd falled for me.
But it was too late for us.
I'd given him so much,
that I ran far away,
fell out of touch.
I ran in to you,
now you're in love with me too,
but I can't help but be sad for things I didn't do.
For it is him that I love, I just hoped it could be you.
