Meant to Be
before you, i hadn't truly lived
for what is life without love?
much like the night sky lacking its stars
or an ocean with its striking blue absent.
you're truly the sparkle in my eye
and the light in my constant darkness
adding the color to my cheeks
and giving my skin its warmth.
even the beauty of the rainbow-tinged sunset
is nothing compared to you
though your inner beauty outshines any physical traits
however perfect they may be.
for the soul that you possess
could never be more flawless to me;
that is why i firmly believe
that we were meant to be.
