key to my heart
Imprisoned behind the bars you call "love",
I hopelessly dream with a wandering gaze
As the couples walk by in amorous stride
Hand in hand, side by side, equal parts
They are two halves of something sacred
Bliss is evident from corners of their lips
In which they pursue with a tender kiss
I console the envy and ache in my heart
With a hopeful and reassuring phrase
"He will transform into that man
To come sweep you from where you stand
His key to your heart will turn
And unleash passion's long-gone return."
However,
My mind knows what my heart will not admit
That perhaps, this boy's key will just not fit
