As I sit by the lake and talk to her
About how I can't believe it's over
But then she falls in
And i remember
She can't swim
I jump in to save both our lives
The cold water stabbing me like knives
I grab her hand
And pull her out
Just then I fall down to the ground
And close my eyes
When I open them
I'm lost in a dream
As the summer days grow shorter
And her leaves fall
I find that my mind chooses to wonder
Why my heart was torn asunder
I fly up above
My wings white as a wedding dove's
The clouds are cool upon my face
My friends see my angelic glow
As I fly over the river
And watch as it flows
The melodies of my songs
Erase all of my wrongs
Then I soar
As high as heaven's doors
But just before I can touch the gate
My wings, they break
I plummet from the sky
Seeing the whole world pass me by
When I hit the ground
Landing on my own 2 feet
I realize
She tore me back from heaven's highest peak
Astonished by this act of caring
I wonder why I was most daring
To try my luck in leaving
Forgetting how my lungs kept breathing
The air we shared for few precious moments
Our "kiss"
That everyone missed
I open my eyes as the ambulance driver said,
"Without her, this boy would be dead"
As I glance from left to right
Hoping...
Pleading...
That she would be within sight
I see her crying tears that must be true
And all I can say is...
"I'm glad I saved you"
