How tender the night

How tender the night

Oh, the night is so tender
With moonlight streaming on her face.
Her smile so warm and tender,
gives me the feeling of sweet surrender.
It is so wonderful just to be at this place.

The soft little hands that caress the back of my neck.
Things I have oft dreamed of but never dared to speak.
With her skin on mine it is hard to keep my emotions in check.
The touch of her lips on mine make me feel weak.

The night, the night.
This is when in my world, everything feels alright.

Then as quickly as it began,
it seems as though it flees even faster.
If only it would stay,
I would be a blest man.

But alas, I awake and find I've only been dreaming.
So tender is the night
I feel almost like screaming.
For now I realize that she belongs to another,
but I will keep on dreaming.
Night, after tender night.
Oh, how tender the night
