Forever?

You hear that word a lot: forever.
When one hears that word,
they associate it with
pain,
disappointment,
and learned expectance...
but also love.

Everyone looks for the one person
who can show you forever.
A forever that wont end,
one that doesn't mean two years
or two months,
but one that means...forever.
Promise after promise for a forever,
and disappointment after disappointment,
can cause one to believe
that forever is just a myth,
that forever is only a dream.

But I think,
I think forever can exist.
Forever can thrive with a thriving love,
when two hearts beat as one,
when two dream the same dream,
trying to achieve it all the way.
When two can stand tall,
side by side,
hand in hand,
through all of life,
good or bad,
and know that they can make it,
that things will be better.

Forever is a dream
that I know I can achieve.
Will you be there
to help me reach it?
Stand with me?
Fall with me?
Face life with me,
whatever comes our way?
