Why Me?

Written for my son, Andrew Julian



Why me? What am I going to do?
No one could understand the shame and pain
I was going through.

But then,
I saw you on the ultrasound screen that day,
and all my shame and pain went away.
God put you in his plan for me
because he knew that with out you in my life
I would not be.

You were an angel sent from above
to let me understand the meaning and depth of Love.

When I first saw your big round eyes
all I could do was thank God and cry.
My heart overflowed with joy,
as I admired my heaven sent boy.

You brought me strength and comfort to go on
when I was weak
and everything seemed to go wrong.

Those smiles, hugs and kisses
have just begun and
I thank God everyday for my beautiful son.

Why me? I was the lucky chosen one you were sent to.
No one could understand the love and compassion
I have for you.
