Watch It

Be careful with that leash you hold
For letting go would not be wise
To let go would be to let your world unfold
This would be your demise

Be careful with those words you say
They might come back to haunt you
Today or tomorrow, but someday
Listen to what I say, it's true

They can seem harmless
But each one hits home
Don't be reckless
Whether it's in person, email, or on the phone

We people need to watch it
Not all of us are cautious
Some say what they feel
When they should keep it to themselves

I really like your poem. It's good on meaning, message and construction. I completely agree. Freedom of speech, doesn't mean freedom to hurt. Good job!

I should be more careful with my words. Thanks for opening my mind.

Deep.
