Strength

Trust me,
It takes strength
To say these words;
I hate you.
It takes more strength to say;
I love you.
Cuts are deep.
When you hold the knife,
They are deeper.
My heart you cut open.
And expose all its vulnerability.
I need strength.
Strength to make it through.
You can give it to me.
Instead of bleeding me dry.
I want my blood back.
I’m gunna need it.
I need all the strength I can get.
I’m sure you lied.
You lied every time you told me…
That you’d never leave.
Of course…why not?
No one else has ever cared.
My heart means nothing.
Oh please give me strength.
Strength to not give up;
Strength to not give in;
Strength to not fall apart;
Strength to keep going;
Strength to feel;
Strength to move on.
