Burden

I used to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders,
Dragging them around like heavy boulders.
My clouded thoughts sent me off course,
Left me stranded with no remorse.
Pushed from the nest to fly or die,
Reality is a canvas to the mind,
Which leaves nothing to hide behind.
Until I was given the vision to see,
A vision slumbering inside me.
Free like a bird, have you heard
The words that sound so absurd,
Jesus and Buddha a collaboration,
saved me from my suffocation.
Use each word but not at face value,
Interpret them a sign posts to where they tell you.
A rich tapestry of ideas,
don’t live with these fears,
Except the light tonight,
Really you know wrong from right.
Free your mind from impossible questions,
See them as nothing more than suggestions.
Keep your feet on the ground but remember to dream.
Hold on tight and don’t be afraid to scream
When the time is right because, you just might, find a ray of light.
