The Mouthless Man and Nameless Town

The town was ruled by a harsh edict,
It was nothing less than nondescript.
This town seemed to be on the outskirts of the nation,
Yet no story told was ever defamation.
The looks of this town were mildly grotesque,
And the people who lived there were far from statuesque.
When the by passers thought nothing would change,
They were in for a shock; something oddly strange.
Into this town walked a man quite droll,
He shuffled around admiring the glances he stole.
This man was the start to a new beginning,
Because he had no mouth; but was always grinning.
This mans sense of complacent seemed to repress the rest,
Because this man actually had a heart in his chest.
He calmed the pandemonium using nothing but his eyes,
His dissonant presence had literally cleared the skies.
Although he hadn’t come to stay,
The mouthless man left a vehement impression on the nameless town that day.
The lasting happiness could not be explained,
But at least a sense of sanity would soon be regained.

"admiring the glances he stole"

"dissonant presence had literally cleared the skies."

I like these phrases.
