Conversation

So shiny and new!
And yet, like many, appearances often apply to few
In a Goodwill you were passed up by most,
So now you’ve become my treasure to boast

So many conversations, so many memories,
Some with past friends, some with future enemies

I disdainfully remember one conversation
The boy on the other end of the wire was worthy of defenestration!
How your cord twists and turns
Just like lies made up in that night time talk, o how it burns!
Your slick surface reminisces of those all too smooth words
How badly I wanted to see the owner of that particular voice have his ashes packed up in urns!

Your bright, orange skin reminds me of a happy conversation
Just hearing that cheerful girl’s voice would bring much elation
Your bubbly exterior can’t help to make me smile
To hear about this girl’s life I can barely wait a while!

Then there was that confusing conversation
The bulk of which was made up of accusation
Just like the unidentifiable grim between your keys
Trying to sort out where that chat went wrong can bring me to my knees!

Of course I can’t fail to mention the lovely child that makes up the majority of my conversation
Ours is a friendship that requires no fortification
Unfortunately the same can’t be said for your configuration
The spaghetti bowl inside you of wires
Is about as clear as the fog over mires
But, as both you and my friendship with this gal are old
Stories of your malfunctions need not be told

Now for a kinship reduced strictly to telephonic conversation
The cause of which is our address divarication
As you are newly adopted little orange phone
I feel the need to inform you this girl too has found a new home

So many conversations
Subsequently, so many tintinnabulations
Which, in case I’ve failed to mention, are quite charming
Taking into account the sound can be rather alarming
However, I personally am glad its jarring

One wouldn’t want to miss the intellectual stimulation
Of an important telephone conversation
