Waiting on Your Shore

As i sit here tonight,
Drops of liquid sorrow fall
Upon my open shoulder
From lakes of sparkling beauty,
Begging for their true love
To grace their wanting shores.

I look upon their waters,
Skim the surface searching
For a way to take from them
Every broken dream and
Every blackened feeling
Polluting their magnificence.

I tried to take the pain, but failed,
So now I wait upon the shoreline,
Ever wishing to devour
The darkness dwelling here
Beneath their crystal surface,
And enjoy the view forever.

Its a kind of hyperbole. Still cool.

the imagery in this is truly beautiful. I can't really manage to put into words what this poem means to me personally, but thank you so much for writing it.

I agree with Selene, the Imagery is pretty impressive!
When I close my eyes I can see the shore, and it drips with a sadness that is fresh. Simply Lovely
