Set Me Free

Darkness hides the world around me,
Chains cuff my arms and legs,
Locking me up where no one can see.
The tears of a child,
Please help set me free.

The reason for this sensation,
Of being alone,
Is simply a penalty,
For something most have outgrown.
It is called friendship,
And treat it well you must,
Or you will suffer the same fate,
I now must learn to trust.

You see if friendship still exists,
Which most believe it does,
Then my “friends” should rescue me,
From this dark, eternal mist because,
Friends are always there for you,
No matter what the case,
They love and cherish you,
No matter what your race.

So please come show me the light.
And end the unforgiving darkness.
To set things right.
I am waiting for you, cant you see?
Please help set me free.
