Out of the Blue

We had just finished talking
You went off to lunch
Hopefully eating a big meal
With some fruit punch

Our conversation was fun
Like it usually is
I wonder if when we meet
That it will be just like this

How you can make me smile
With just words on a screen
And how we can relate
To how our lives have been

Just typing this out of the blue
Because I’m tired of studying
Wondering if I’ll show this to you
And also that I’m admitting…

To the fact that you inspire me
In a way that opens my mind again
I never wrote poems out of the blue
Especially for a new friend

So I hope you had a good lunch
Ready to go back to work
Maybe we can talk alittle more
Cuz studying is driving me berserk
