I was five
You were eight
You made me feel safe
It was great

Time passed by
And somehow
You kept my
Attention

Somehow I
Kept you around

I still don’t know
How

I think about all
The time we shared
I think about how
You got me through everything
You gave me the words
To the song
I always wanted to sing

Do you remember everything
That was shared between
You and me?

Remember my first heartbreak?
You were there
When just living was more then I could take

Remember my first cut
And how you said you could feel it on
Your own wrist?
And when I took all those pills?

You were pissed

Remember the first time
That we kissed?
Yha
Those are times
I’ve often missed

Now I’m sixteen
You’re nineteen
You know a side of me
No one else has ever seen

You’ve seen my cry
You’ve helped my get by
You’ve made me survive
You’ve been the reason why

Do you still remember
Running away?
When life got so hard
And we just couldn’t stay
Around anymore

We’d stay up all night
Talking about nothing
Talking about life
We’d make plans
Like we held the world
In our hands

And now we’re still best friends
And we’ll be there for each other
Till this life ends
