World of Darkness

Summer lost in pain and gloom
This world of darkness our eyes consume
Paths wound deep with betrayal
Boundaries crossed with no avail
Fates forgotten in notes of death
Another suicide leaving no one at rest
Lives of the innocent lost without reason
Pain that won't go away with the change of the season
Rivers of tears flow from the lost
Misguided souls that pay the cost
Sanity determined through the eyes of another
Imprisonment forced by hopeless mothers
The helpless abused by those who do wrong
Leaving them with scars that will last life long
There are those who choose to turn away
With hurt inside and much to say
And so we close our eyes to another afternoon
Knowing that tomorrow will come just a minute too soon
