Dolly Dearest, where art thou?
You know it’s time for tea.
But no matter where I look
It’s you I do not see.
You’re not in the garden,
Nor the kitchen, nor the hall;
Oh, I cannot find you,
No matter how I call.
Oh, Dolly Dearest!
So this is where you were!
Simply playing hide-and-seek
Among the furniture.
Now Dolly Dear, you know the rules;
Tea time must never wait.
You have to bear the punishment
For being oh-so-late.
Let’s see, we broke your leg last month
For trying to escape,
And when you tried to leave again,
Your arms were bent in a strange shape.
After all the floggings,
Your stuffing’s oozing out;
With all your silly injuries,
There can be no doubt:
Your punishment is dissection!
Now, won’t this be fun?!
I’ll rip off each useless body part
And you’ll look brilliant when we’re done!
This arm shall be from Sally;
New stuffing from Mr. Bear;
With all these helpful donors,
We’ll have parts to spare.
Ah, Dolly Dear, you’re finished!
I’m sure it hurt a lot.
But don’t be sad, my Dolly friend;
You deserved what you got.
Now it’s time for tea;
I’ll serve Ballerina first.
Then all my lovely hospital patients
So they won’t die of thirst.
So don’t you see, my dolls?
What a great family we make?
That’s why I can never let you leave,
If only for your sake.
