velvet sea
as the weeks go by she erases herself
from all that she once loved;
friends. the hope of a warm family. people in general.
walking with a blank, scared expression
a hole through her heart, scars on her wrists
as her blonde hair fades black-
bubblegum pink nails, they darken
and a tanned face now white
with outlined eyes.
that fake aroma of before has been forgotten
she won't eat, can't sleep
living in the past
and walking alone to the future.
she hears the whispers,
and can grasp the words..
becoming the girl she used to feel sorry for,
and realizing it was her all along.
a hug could make the world go round,
and there is nobody left to care
