tonight

Tonight
The darkness asked me to come outside with it
So it could wrap its arms around me
Sing me a song
And tell me nothing matters anymore
The full moon watched over me
And laughed at my mistake
The lake looked so peaceful
Alone shining in the moonlight
I couldn’t stop myself
From being taken away
First it was cold and scary
But I welcomed the feeling into my body
Soul and spirit
And I kept going
Without any regrets
Without any tears in my eyes
I slipped under the water
Into the darkness
As I said goodnight
And I was gone
