The Muse

This is a poem I want to work into a story. The background is that a girl has just
committed suicide, and she is reciting a poem about her life to
St. Peter at the gates of heaven.
The poem moves St. Peter to send her back and let her live longer.

I am but a Muse
In His livelihood
With words that confuse
And become misunderstood

Give me a chance?
Please, I plead
One last dance
More blood to bleed

The things I've seen
The path I've walked
The people I've been
Yet, still, I'm blocked

To create beauty
And walk with ease
Beauty I have not seen
Can I see it, please?

Show me Faith and Love
Make me live
Everything Above
Everything I can give

I am but a Muse
In His livelihood
With words that confuse
And become misunderstood
