Creeping out into the night
charcoal clouds smeared in the sky
ceasing the ever-growing fright...
Stare at the sign above you
Amble down the sidewalk slow
a chilling breeze cuts through the air
Unlikely to know where to go
Mere street lights support you
Houses old and tattered
rickety wooden displays
as if nothing here ever mattered
broken windows, unruly yards
It is cold, now it starts to rain
a small drizzle trickles down
try to keep yourself sane
gazing around at the environment
Street lights flicker off
darkness swallows your vision
mere moonlight seems to scoff
you know exactly that you're scared
You are afraid when you take a look
a the corners of the street
something could be near, like a crook
you see nothing yet at all
Shuffling noises in the bushes
Keep walking to pass the time
and you can only spare mere wishes
that wishes that you weren't there
A black cat crosses your way
You blink in surprise and keep going
you hope you can't help but pray
that day will come now, soon
Noises grow even louder
scenes go through your mind
Noises they grow, more louder!
What else is there to find?
You find yourself running
rushing from the scene
everything's so stunning
the world is cruel, so mean
As if every tree scoffs at you
evil laughter filling the air
at moments, you just don't know what to do
because all of this you are scared
Terrified, you get to your home
and look back at the Avenue
something's not right in that biome
You just know it to be true
Something there is calling you back
Yet fear feircely takes you over
tears come to eyes due to the fact
You thought you mightn't live again
Your hand on the door knob shaking
take one last look behind you
can't help to think why it's taking
so long to get to your own safety
Shivering you force yourself in
fall into a very deep sleep
And what do you know happens next?
You awake, it was all but a dream.
